FRP insulated sheets, also known as fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) sandwich panels or composite insulated panels are lightweight and durable construction materials that combine the strength of FRP facings with an insulating core material.
These panels typically consist of three main components:
- FRP Facings: The facings or skins are made of fiberglass-reinforced polymers, often using materials like glass fibers embedded in a thermoset resin matrix (e.g., polyester, vinyl ester, or epoxy). These facings provide structural strength, impact resistance, and weather resistance.
- Insulating Core: The core material is typically a lightweight, insulating material such as polyurethane foam, polyisocyanurate foam, or honeycomb structures. The core provides thermal insulation and contributes to the overall strength and rigidity of the panel.
- Adhesive: A specialized adhesive is used to bond the FRP facings to the insulating core, ensuring a strong and durable composite structure.
